What will I learn?

The BSB60615 Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety qualification is suitable for people who apply advanced practical knowledge to coordinate, facilitate and maintain the Work Health and Safety (WHS) program in one or more fields of work in an organisation, such as a WHS practitioner or HR practitioner. They may work under the guidance of an occupational health and safety professional.

There are 8 units of competency to complete for the full qualification.

This qualification has been designed in consultation with industry to provide a systematic practical approach to managing work health and safety.

Work Health and Safety (WHS) is a fast-growing industry with many career opportunities. The Nationally Registered qualifications of Advanced Diploma in Work Health and Safety will help students gain the required skills to work across many industries including mining, construction, health, and hospitality.

Entry requirements

For international students

All core units in BSB51315 Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent competencies.
Equivalent competencies are predecessors to the following units which have been mapped as equivalent:

  • BSBWHS502 Manage effective WHS consultation and participation process
  • BSBWHS503 Contribute to the systematic management of WHS risk
  • BSBWHS504 Manage WHS risk
  • BSBWHS505 Investigate WHA incidents
  • BSBWHS506 Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining WHS management systems.

In general, the minimum academic entry requirement is a satisfactory completion of Year 12 in Australia or equivalent.

International students are required to have an IELTS of 5.5 or equivalent.
